Beskrivelse

The project focuses on the development of biodegradable long-acting drug delivery systems using hot-melt extrusion as a solvent-free and scalable manufacturing method. The planned research will investigate the processing of pharmaceutical grades polymers and lipids and excipient-based matrices into solid dosage forms such as implants, films, and other extruded formats for long-acting drug delivery. The requested twin-screw extruder is essential for this project because it enables small-scale pharmaceutical formulation development under well-controlled processing conditions. The system must be suitable for working with limited amounts of active pharmaceutical ingredients and excipients, while allowing precise control of temperature, screw configuration, residence time, and die geometry. The uniqueness of the requested equipment lies in its combination of small-scale material use, modular screw design, pharmaceutical applicability, and compatibility with the specific extrusion formats required for the project. These features are necessary for the planned formulation development and cannot be fully replaced by standard large-scale or non-pharmaceutical extrusion equipment.
